Toronto Blue Jays center fielder and Arlington Bowie alumnus Vernon Wells addressed Bowie's football team Tuesday. Wells expressed envy because the Volunteers are in the playoffs, something he didn't experience during his football playing days. He wished the team well and offered some motivating words. Arlington Bowie scored 16 unanswered points to begin the second half and cruised to a 37-14 victory over Lubbock Coronado on Saturday in a UIL Class 5A Divsion I Region I semifinal at Texas Tech’s Jones AT&T Stadium.
