Sophomore RB Leads Arlington Bowie Past Mansfield

Arlington Bowie running back
Russell Hansbrough needed
only a few carries to make
his presence felt against
Mansfield.
Three of the
sophomore’s first four rushing attempts went for touchdowns as
the Volunteers ran past the Tigers 58-20 in a District 4-5A game
at UT-Arlington’s Maverick Stadium.
Hansbrough
finished with 147 yards on five carries and three scores —
all in the first half.

Hansbrough scored on runs of 47, 11 and 33 yards in
the first half as Bowie (4-1, 2-0) built a 41-12
lead. Hansborough had a 48-yard run in the second
quarter but was forced out at the 1-yard line.
Quarterback Deric Davis threw 138 yards and two
touchdowns and Phillip Ajayi had a 58-yard punt
return for a touchdown for Bowie.
Mansfield (1-6, 0-2) got
rushing touchdowns from Garrett Graham, Daniel Green
and George Baltimore.
